Role Summary
The Taproom Ambassador is a bartending-first, on-shift leadership role focused on delivering a best-in-class taproom experience and supporting revenue growth through strong execution, hospitality, and consistency.
When ownership or management is not present, the Taproom Ambassador is the person in charge on shift. This role is expected to execute all on-shift standards, lead the team during service, and ensure the taproom operates smoothly.
This is not an administrative or salaried management role. The responsibility lives on the floor.
Schedule & Hours
Average 25–35 hours per week
4–5 shifts per week
Shift lengths vary (open, mid, close)
Weekend availability required
Expected presence on key nights (Trivia, Loyalty Club, peak weekends)
Compensation
$14/hour + tips

Core Responsibilities
1. Guest Experience & Service (Primary)
Deliver friendly, efficient, and consistent service
Create a welcoming environment for regulars and first-time guests
Confidently speak to beer offerings, events, and taproom programming
Maintain a clean, organized bar and taproom during shifts
2. On-Shift Leadership & Execution
When scheduled, the Taproom Ambassador is responsible for running the shift.
Lead the team during service
Direct flow, coverage, and pacing on the floor
Ensure service standards and procedures are followed
Make real-time decisions to keep service smooth
Serve as the primary point of escalation during the shift
This role has on-shift authority, but not off-shift administrative responsibility.
3. Training & Standards
Help train new bartenders on:
POS usage
Taproom standards
Opening and closing procedures
Trivia, Loyalty Club, and other recurring programs
Reinforce standards consistently during shifts
Correct issues in real time and lead by example
Communicate recurring issues or training gaps to ownership
4. Revenue Support
Execute promotions, events, and programming as scheduled
Support upselling and add-on opportunities where appropriate
Encourage repeat visits through strong hospitality and awareness of upcoming events
Help ensure key nights are executed at a high level

Scheduling or labor planning
Hiring, firing, or formal discipline
Inventory ordering or vendor coordination
Marketing strategy or event planning
Administrative or off-shift responsibilities
All responsibilities are on-shift and execution-focused.
